2010 Career Development Workshop
On November 10, 2010, APIASF presented its second career development workshop for students in partnership with McDonald's titled "Getting Ahead: How to Stand Out from the Competition and GET THAT JOB!"
This two-hour workshop provided guidance and advice from a panel of executives from some of the country's top companies to help students and young professionals set them apart from the competition and stand out to potential employers. Panelist included: Tariq Khan (Moderator), President, Global Diversity Marketing; Jim Johannesen, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, McDonald's USA LLC; Craig A. Williams, Vice President, U.S., The McDonald's Division, The Coca-Cola Company; Michelle Scales, Director of Diverse Growth Segments, Wells Fargo; Geoffrey Bakelmun, Vice President of Operations, Mid-Atlantic and South East School Services Division, Sodexo; Commander Dennis Espiritu, Naval City Outreach Officer, Chief of Naval Personnel, Diversity Directorate Office, United States Navy; Ken Murata, Counsel, O'Melveny & Myers LLP; Kimberly Ford, Director of Minority Inclusion, NCAA.
Following the presentations there was a question and answer session with panelists and the opportunity for students and young professionals to speak with panelists for small roundtable discussions.
