Atlanta, GA — Sachi Koto Communications announces the second annual WWAAC — Who’s Who in Asian American Communities Gala. The July 21, 2007 Gala will honor 50-outstanding Asian Americans in ten (10) Southeastern states (Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, North and South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia). The WWAAC Committee is now accepting nominations and applications for potential Honorees.

A portion of the proceeds received from the Gala will be donated to the APIASF – Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund. The APIASF is the only national organization that promotes the pursuit of higher education among Asian and Pacific Islander American students by distributing scholarships to qualified first-year undergraduate college, university, and vocational school students. The vision of APIASF is to see that all Asian and Pacific Islander Americans who wish to pursue a higher education have that opportunity, regardless of their ethnicity, national origin, or financial means. The purpose of the WWAAC Committee is to recognize the accomplishments of dedicated and successful Asians who serve as role models in the community by publicizing their achievements, and promoting the Asian American community into mainstream America. The WWAAC Committee’s mission is to champion outstanding Asian Americans by publishing the second edition of the Who’s Who in Asian American Communities publication, to be released at the WWAAC Gala in July 2007, in Atlanta, Georgia.

For over one hundred fifty years, Asian Americans have made enormous contributions to the prosperity and success of this great nation. While there are many different Who’s Who organizations recognizing outstanding members of our society, very few, if any, focus on the prominent Asian Americans who have been our role models for success, great contributors to our community and to the nation, and distinguished figures in their own professions.

The WWAAC Committee is actively soliciting and encouraging the nomination of exemplary Asian Americans to join those inducted at last year’s inauguration. The nominees must fulfill the following requirements:

• be a legal, permanent resident or U.S. citizen of Asian descent — residing in one of the above ten (10) states,
• must be 21 years old or older by December 15, 2006
• have accomplished great achievements in business, government, academics, arts, technology, media, or other professions
• have made significant contributions to the Asian American community
• serve as an officer or leader of the community or an organization.

Upon completion of the application, the Committee will review the information and ultimately decide who will be inducted into the Society of Who’s Who in Asian American Communities. All decisions made by the Committee are final.
